Meet JMAI student, Michele! Michele’s a student at our Northeast Philadelphia campus. She’s sharing some school insight, beauty favorites and advice for aspiring JMAI students.

Introduce yourself!

My name is Michele and I’m in the cosmetology program at the Northeast Philadelphia campus. What I love about JMAI are the instructors – they make learning enjoyable and will help out with whatever you are struggling with.

What inspired you to go to beauty school?

A couple of makeup artists and hair stylists on Instagram actually inspired me to go to beauty school. I fell in love with how they perfected everything and hope to be just as good as them when I graduate from here.

What is your favorite Aveda product?

Currently, my favorite product is the Madder Root color conditioner. I always had a hard time keeping the red tone in my hair and this product helped me keep the tone in longer. It also made my hair really soft!

Share your favorite beauty trend.

My favorite beauty trend right now is the graduated concave cut. It frames faces beautifully and makes styling hair fun!

What is your dream job after graduation?

After graduation, my dream job is to work for a Jean Madeline Salon or Adolf Biecker to become a colorist.

Have any advice for aspiring JMAI students?

Always listen to the instructors and be able to take constructive criticism from your peers and teachers. If it wasn’t for the advice, I wouldn’t have been able to better myself each day!
