Winter Weather Beauty Tips

Struggle with dry, static-y hair during winter? It's time to update your beauty routine and adapt to the seasons. Jean Madeline Aveda Institute's Technical Director, Amanda has some tips and tricks to help you combat this season's most annoying beauty woes.

Maintain Moisture

Keep as much moisture in your hair as possible. The harsh winter air and indoor heating dries out hair. Don't forget to apply conditioner to prevent dry and brittle strands. A leave-in conditioner is another good option for hydrating hair.

Combat Static and Frizz

Once the temperature drops, our hair is prone to static and frizz. Keep a moisturizing styling cream or a spray bottle on hand to tame those flyaways.

Product Recommendation: Aveda Nourishing Styling Crème or Aveda Control Paste

Try Something New

If you're thinking about a change, it's a good time to try something new. Try new bangs– the air is drier, so you won't have to fight humidity after blow dries. Or, try a shorter haircut–show off a bob over comfy big scarves and sweaters. You'll also have time to grow out your hair and style it up for the summer months ahead.
